Dr. A. Reid Patty, Jr.

Dr. Patty is a native of Burlington, and, continues to make his home in this city. He is a graduate of Williams High School, and, did his undergraduate and graduate work, in Biology, at the University of North Carolina.

He completed his doctoral work for his degree as a Doctor of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1982, graduating with honors as a member of several honor societies.

A passion in his professional career has been his involvement in providing eye care to children in underdeveloped nations via his work with “Healing the Children”, as well as his church, which has established a mission enclave in Peru.

To date, he has been a participant and leader on eight different mission trips.

He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, and is active in scouting and youth work.

Dr. Patty has been married for over thirty years, to his wife Beth, who, also works in their Burlington office.

They have two children. Lawson, their son, is a junior in the Belk School of Business, at UNCC. Barrett, their daughter, is a freshman majoring in communications and broadcast journalism, also at UNCC.
