Jennifer M. Powell, OD

Dr. Jennifer M. Powell was born in North Wilkesboro, NC, and resided there until graduating from Wilkes Central High School. She is a graduate of UNC–Chapel Hill, where she majored in biology and chemistry. She completed four years at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis including internships in Nashville, TN, and in Salisbury, NC. She has traveled with Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) to Belize and twice to Costa Rica to perform eye exams for people in need. She also worked at NC Lions Foundation affiliated Camp Dogwood for the Blind and Visually Impaired located in Sherrills Ford, NC.

Dr. Powell moved to Roxboro in August 2006 and has really enjoyed getting to know the community. She loves talking with patients to better understand their daily visual requirements. She enjoys seeing patients of any age; those requiring correction with glasses or contact lenses as well as those having the gift of good vision naturally. She is also capable of managing and treating ocular disease.
